GMA-7 reporter Joseph Morong asked Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque to stop cutting off reporters during their turn for asking questions on the daily presidential press briefing.

This was after CNN Philippines reporter Trish Terrada and Rappler journalist Pia Ranada was not able to finish their questions.

Terrada was still speaking when Roque interrupted and shifted to another reporter, while Ranada appeared to be muted while raising a question.

This prompted Morong to speak up about the incident.

“Sir request lang, can you not cut off yung audio ng mga nasa online?” asked Morong to the presidential spokesperson.

“It’s kind of harsh if you do that — cut the audio — this is the second time na kinut ‘yung audio ng reporter,” he added.

Roque explained that he never intended to cut off reporters and said that it was the telecommunications companies fault.

“I can assure you, I never do that intentionally. Kung nakaka-cut off, it’s the fault of the telecoms,” Roque responded.
