Ricky Velasco might have left us, but his memories will linger for generations to come.
Several colleagues of Velasco, famously known as ‘Sky Patrol’, have shared their recollection about the DZMM and ABS-CBN reporter.
Karen Davila remembers Velasco as one of the most humble and welcoming person in the Kapamilya network.
“Nakakaiyak. Parang kailan lang. Isa sa pinakamabait, pinaka humble at pinaka-welcoming na tao sa ABSCBN,” said the veteran journalist.

Philippine Daily Inquirer reporter Marlon Ramos even described Velasco as ‘OG’ of the GPS traffic app, Waze.
Sobrang nakakalungkot nito 😭😭😭
Kuyang Ricky is one of the nicest, most humble journo I’ve met. Walang ere. Kahit kilalang kilala at beterano na sya, he’s very helpful to me & other fellow rookie journos in covering then Makati Mayor Jojo Binay in 2008.
Paalam, Sky Patrol😢 https://t.co/re8l6VexVE

Si Kuyang Ricky Velasco ang OG na Waze.
Tinatawagan ko pa sya dati to check kung gaano kalala ang trapik sa Slex northbound at para magtanong kung saan mas maluwag ang trapik😭 #RIPSkyPatrol
