Ceej Tantengco wants to know why some publishers are not paying freelancers for their work.
The sports reporter was also a victim of the malpractice as a major publisher did not paid her since 2017.
In her tweet, she said that she has sent emails on the publisher, but was ignored.
“The editors ignore our emails & demand letters, but they’re happy to post photos with the celebs they feature. Bet those celebs are paid on time!” said Tantengco.
Lately I've been sick, and my friend's family business is trying to cope with the pandemic. We're just lucky we have other clients. But imagine this happening to a fresh grad or someone less privileged!
This is why publishing, in some parts, still feels like a rich kid's game.
