Veteran journalist Karen Davila was visibly dismayed regarding a report on the Sinovac vaccine being much cheaper in Indonesia and Thailand compared to the Philippines.
Davila described the different costs for vaccines as ‘plain criminal’.
“This is just plain criminal. After Kawawa tayong mga Pilipino. Terrible,” said the ABS-CBN broadcaster.
The issue was broght by Dr. Anthony Leachon where he compared the prices of the China-developed vaccine on other neighboring countries of the Philippines.
On the said information shared by Leachon, a former adviser for National Task Force on COVID-19, he said that Sinovac doses cost US$17 in Indonesia, while the price in the Philippines is pegged at $36.
“Why is Sinovac cheaper in Indonesia and Thailand?” said Leachon.
