Veteran journalist Karen Davila has her doubts on the project of Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to ‘transform’ Manila Bay as Boracay of the metro.
Tons of white sand were dumped in the baywalk of Manila Bay, that will be spread out to cover 500 meters of the said path.
Seeing the mass of sand on the area, Davila can’t help to think if it has a negative effect on the environment.
“These are actually dolomite rocks from Cebu. But the bigger issue is – is this environmentally sound?! And is the cost to the environment worth it?!” said the ANC anchor.
UP professor and known geologist Mahar Lagmay thinks that the sand would actually just be washed away from the shoreline, and will be added to the sea floor,
